Weary Pilgrim

Weary pilgrim, rise and listen,
Do not let despair arise;
Dews of grace now fall and glisten,
Love is shining in the skies.
Do you know a Father tender
Walks beside you every day?
Do you know the morning splendor
Is the glory of His way?

Are you all alone, forsaken?
Do you feel that empty fright?
Have the promises been taken
By the terror of the night?
Do not let the darkness frighten,
Jesus Christ your light will be,
Every day that path will brighten
If that beacon you can see.

Though His arms, you cannot feel them,
Know they are around you now,
Trust His promises and seal them
On your arm and on your brow.
Though you fear, you need not falter,
When you're weary, do not cease.
Leave your burden on the alter--
Christ, your Brother, gives you peace.

Strength for trav'ling He will render,
For He is the strength of all,
Find the conquest of surrender,
And arise above your fall.
God of mercy, with us be now
And our hearts are satisfied,
Though Your hand we cannot see now,
We know you are at our side.
